During one of our recent hotel stays we were happy to find a hotel going the extra eco mile by supplying bath products from Terra Pure.
Terra Pure has not launched in retail stores yet, but they are available through hotel samples for now. They offer soaps, body lotions, shampoos, and conditioners that are made from natural and organic ingredients and packaged with recycle paper and 100% soy based ink. The fact that they are organic and their packaging is eco friendly is great and as an added bonus the products made our skin soft and smelled great.
Hotels can prove to be highly wasteful as some guests will stay for one night, use all the products once, and then trash the products. Sheets and towels will be washed after one use. Small eco steps made by hotels moving forward can make all the difference. We recommend you scoop these bath products up and use them on all your hotel stays and go a step further by suggesting them during your next hotel stay.
Over the weekend while doing our regular errand and shopping routine, we stopped to check out some shoes. Now, if you’re as rough as we are with our shoes, you understand this happens often. After trying on a few pairs, we settled on a new pair of Puma sneakers. You can imagine our surprise when instead of receiving the regular bulky, non-eco friendly shoe box, the clerk packed the shoes in a recyclable cloth Puma bag – the new “Clever Little Bag by Puma” to be exact.
After some research, we were amazed and so happy to find that Puma has started a program called PumaVision, strictly to oversee Puma’s commitment to protecting the environment and continually improving work conditions. It is no secret that in the past Puma has had its difficulties. After Greenpeace turned the spotlight on their questionary practices, it is great to see Puma is taking positive green steps forward.
PS – We are loving our new PVC free shoes, but don’t forget to recycle the old ones! Check out Nike Reuse -A- Shoe
